What are RGB, CMYK and PMS Colors?

In graphic design, we often refer to three different color models called RGB, CMYK and PMS.

RGB is used for computer and TV screens and denotes the three color components Red, Green and Blue.

CMYK is used for printing presses and denotes Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (K) and is oftern referred to as four-color process.

PMS refers to the Pantone Color Matching System—a standardized mix of inks that are used as spot colors on printing presses. Using a PMS color allows you have a consistent color for logos, etc whereas a mix of colors built in CMYK may shift depending on how heavy any of the four inks are applied. PMS colors also allows you to use a color that typically would be a color build in CMYK (eg, orange, green, brown or purple) on a two-color press.

Though an attractive site can help with the "sale" it's not the element that draws the visitor in the first place—that is the role of an integrated marketing program and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is comprised of various factors that draw attention to your site and retain high level posts with search engines like Google and Yahoo. It has been an undervalued marketing tool but is starting to catch the attention of businesses as they become more focused on their website ROI. For more information visit our website: www.ajuga.com.
